BLACKCATBLADES

Black Cat Blades manufactures a complete range of cutting edges for all brands of earthmoving equipment. These are the replaceable wear parts attached to the machine that contacts the ground and is designed to be easily replaced. Parts for road maintenance machinery include grader blades and snow plow blades as well as end bits and wear pads or shoes. For construction and road building machinery the products include front end loader and backhoe blades, both the weld in “base” edge and the replaceable bolt on, usually reversible, wear part. Blades, end bits, and moldboards for motor scrapers, bull dozers, and excavators make up the remainder of the products offered in this segment. Products are also manufactured for large earthmoving equipment used in the mining industry including large bull dozers, excavation equipment, scoop trams, and all other support machinery used to move earth and materials.

Blades and Cutting Edges

Products are manufactured from several grades of high alloy steel to meet the demanding requirements of the earthmoving application. Many of the parts manufactured for road maintenance equipment are manufactured from both high carbon steel as well as high alloy boron steels that are heat treated and hardened to improve the wear life and strength of the parts. All of the parts manufactured for construction and mining equipment are made to meet or exceed industry standard specifications. Most of these parts are made from high alloy boron steels and then they are heat treated and hardened for the improved strength and wear life.

Cast Half Arrow Blades and Segments

Black Cat is developing a line of cast half arrow blades and segments for front end loader buckets. Black Cat Half Arrow Edges and Segments are built to last using our HighSpec Alloy X14 steel for excellent wear characteristics and superior impact resistance. Segments are placed between loader teeth to protect the base edge of the bucket. The half arrow design offers enhanced protection for the edge and bevel. Black Cat Half Arrow Segments offer the benefits of more material in the high wear areas, increased bucket capacity and enhanced bucket penetration. Maximum depth countersinking allows for optimum use of wear material before the bolt head’s failure. The unique design of Black Cat’s Half Arrow Segments puts more wear material everywhere you need it.

Black Cat Half Arrow Edges are used to replace the standard double bevel design commonly used on larger loaders where no tooth and adapter options are installed. The half arrow design is excellent protection for the base edge and bevel. The sharpened nose design offers excellent penetration capability and enhanced material flow into the bucket. Black Cat’s design puts more wear material where it is needed most, on the underside of the blade where abrasion is highest. Three center blades replace two standard double bevel edges and the end bits are direct replacements used on either the right or left end.

Bucket Teeth and Adapters

Black Cat supplies a broad range of replaceable ground engaging tools known as teeth and adapters for front end loader and excavator buckets. These are the replaceable “points” on the bucket designed to be changed easily and improve the penetration capability of the equipment.

Black Cat Direct Replacement Teeth are manufactured using our HighSpec Alloy steel and heat treated to our precise specifications. Computer design and analysis is employed in the development stages to ensure proper fitment and optimum strength for every tooth. Efficient processes and “state of the art” foundry practices allow for competitive pricing of quality parts. In house metallurgical staff and testing facilities ensure quality and consistency in all of our finished products. The results are quality wear parts that offer value to the customer every time.

Other Castings and Wear Parts

Black Cat also offers the industry a growing selection of wear parts and castings for a variety of applications. High quality alloy steels are used to manufacture parts that require wear resistant properties coupled with impact resistance. Our capabilities and flexibility enable us to offer competitive castings for a wide variety of applications, even when smaller quantities have made more traditional foundries less than interested.
